History of the Post-Steroid Era
Following the Steroid Era, the MLB started to crack down on PED use. Numerous players were suspended, including Yankee
star player Alex Rodriguez was suspended for part of the 2013 season and the entirety of the 2014 season. Though he was
only suspended then, his homerun rate took a hit after the MLB started cracking down on PED usage, dropping from ~40
homeruns per season to ~30. This is still a great number, but his prior PED use makes it much less impressive (yes, I'm
a Red Sox fan and anti-Yankees).
